Health Dept. - Public Health Educator II
This is very responsible work involving the delivery of health related educational programs and services for the regional Health Department. Activities associated with the job include counseling clients on basic health information in one-on-one or group settings, assessing clients’ general health status and plans and implementing evidence based programs/initiatives to address chronic disease prevention and management. Additional activities include documenting information associated with clients’ care plans, identifying individuals and agencies within the community that can offer assistance to clients, interacting with community agencies to identify and address unmet health related needs for targeted populations and promoting community health related educational programs. Job responsibilities require graduation from an accredited college or university with a B.A. (B.S.) degree in health education, biology or related field, considerable knowledge of available health and nutritional programs and services in the area and strong organizational, interpersonal and decision making skills. Bi-lingual is a plus.
