The Building Inspections Office and Planning and Zoning Offices handle the new construction permitting process. Prior to zoning approval and permitting, and building construction permitting, the following uses should contact the Sevier County Health Department. The Tennessee Department regulates these uses through the Sevier County Health Department:
Failure to get plan approval from the Health Department before construction can cost substantial time and money to make necessary corrections.
- Food service establishments
- Public swimming pools
- Tattoo and/or body piercing establishments
- Hotels and motels
- Organized campgrounds

THE SEVIER COUNTY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMISSION MEETS THE SECOND TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH AT 5 PM IN THE COURTHOUSE 3RD FLOOR MEETING ROOM (COUNTY COMMISSION ROOM) AT THE SEVIER COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 125 COURT AVE.
THE BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS (BZA) MEETS, AS NEEDED, ON THE SECOND TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH AT 4 PM, IN THE COURTHOUSE 3RD FLOOR MEETING ROOM (COUNTY COMMISSION ROOM) AT THE SEVIER COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 125 COURT AVE.
ALL SUBMITTALS FOR REVIEW BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OR THE BZA MUST BE RECEIVED 21 WORKING DAYS BEFORE THE MEETINGS.
