Chris Jenkins - Building Official is a Tennessee Certified Building Inspector (Commercial and Residential), Tennessee Certified Plumbing Inspector (Commercial and Residential), Tennessee Certified Mechanical Inspector (Commercial and Residential), Tennessee Certified Fire Inspector and Tennessee Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control Level 1 certified.
The office provides building code enforcement for construction in Sevier County.

1. Do I need a building permit? Click here for the Building Permit Application. Any new construction including accessory structures, remodels and additions require a building permit.
2. What is the first step to getting a building permit? There are permits and documents required before our office can issue the building permit (environmental health, zoning compliance, floor plan and contractor information). Links are below.

3. What inspections are required? Typical inspection includes: footings, under slab plumbing, rough in framing, rough in plumbing, energy (which includes HVAC and gas pipe) and final. Please check your permit for specific inspections for your project.
4. Do property lines need to be marked for inspection? Yes, property lines shall be marked for footing inspection (or first scheduled inspection if footings have been inspected by 3rd party professional).
